Before becoming a counselor, I spent years as a teacher and school counselor, and I've also experienced many of the roles and transitions that can make life feel full — working mom, stay-at-home mom, and first responder spouse.
Those experiences shaped the way I think about counseling. I wanted to create a space where women could step out of everything they're responsible for, slow down for a little while, and have room to focus on themselves.
My approach is both reflective and practical. We'll take time to understand what you're experiencing, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and get curious about what might help.
We'll also explore what matters most to you — your values — and use those as a guide as you decide what you want to change and where you want to go from here.
Along the way, we'll build practical tools you can use outside of counseling, so the work we do together can begin making a difference in your everyday life.
I take a holistic view of mental health, recognizing that how we feel doesn't exist in isolation. Sleep, movement, nutrition, stress, relationships, environment, and the things that matter most to you can all play a role in your emotional well-being.
That doesn't mean we'll try to change everything at once. Instead, we'll look at the whole picture together and get curious about where small, realistic changes might make a meaningful difference.
For women who feel drawn to it, nature can also become part of the counseling process — whether through outdoor sessions, Walk-and-Talk therapy, or simply finding ways to feel more grounded and connected in everyday life.
Women come to counseling for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes life has changed. Sometimes something feels harder than it used to. And sometimes you simply know that the way things are isn't the way you want them to stay. I work with women navigating:
WayfindHer Counseling is located in a restored little blue house near downtown McKinney. I wanted the space to feel warm, comfortable, and a little less clinical than what you might picture when you think of a counseling office.
The house is also home to other wellness professionals, creating a space where physical and emotional well-being can exist alongside one another.
You don't need to have everything figured out before beginning counseling.
When you're ready, I'd be glad to walk alongside you as you figure out what you need and where you'd like to go from here.

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate to clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance for their healthcare services.
WayfindHer Counseling is a private-pay practice. Before beginning services, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of your counseling services.
A Good Faith Estimate is intended to help you understand anticipated costs before receiving care. It is based on the information available at the time it is prepared and is not a contract or guarantee of the total cost of treatment. Because counseling is individualized, the number of sessions needed may change over time.
If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the charges as provided under federal law.
